All our Marriage Officiants are licenced to perform wedding ceremonies by the Registrar General of the Province of Ontario.
You will have the opportunity to meet with your Officiant, to design a ceremony specially crafted to reflect your cultural and social sensibilities.
To book our services, we require the following:
1. The date of ceremony
2. The time of ceremony
3. The location of ceremony
The fee varies depending on the location of your wedding ceremony. Please contact our office for quote.
Approximately one month before the ceremony, you, your fiancé(e) and your Officiant will get together to plan your ceremony. The Officiant will also ask to see your marriage licence at this meeting. The balance (plus travel fee if applicable) is due in cash to the Officiant at this time.
Once your deposit has been paid, our office will issue you a confirmation email. An Officiant will then be assigned to your ceremony. We will try to accommodate "special" requests.
On the Wedding Day
The Officiant will arrive approximately 20 minutes prior to your ceremony. Please make sure your ceremony starts on time, as your Officiant will very likely have alternative engagements later that day. Please note, the couple must present their marriage licence and envelope to the Officiant before the proceedings.
After the ceremony, you will be presented with the "Record of Solemnization of Marriage" documenting your marriage. The Officiant will immediately mail your marriage licence to the Office of the Registrar General in Thunder Bay for registration.
Approximately 8 weeks after your wedding date, you may wish to apply for a formal Certificate of Marriage from the Registrar General of Ontario, located in Thunder Bay. The application form and fee schedule were included with the information you received when you purchased your marriage licence. If you do not have the Marriage Certificate Application Form, you may pick it up at any marriage licence office or from the Toronto Office of the Registrar General located at 47 Sheppard Ave. E., 4th floor (Tel: 416.325.8305). Alternatively, you may apply online at serviceontario.ca.
Best wishes on your forthcoming marriage.
